About

Hi, I’m Shannon, a book editor with a background in English education, librarianship, and a lifelong love of stories.

Before becoming an editor, I spent years teaching English and working as a school librarian, experiences that shaped the way I approach every manuscript today. I learned that words matter, stories matter, and behind every piece of writing is a person with something meaningful to share.

I earned my undergraduate degree with triple majors in English, Elementary Education, and Biblical Studies, graduating summa cum laude, and later earned my M.A. in Holistic Education. My background in literature, education, and reader engagement allows me to approach editing with both a careful eye for detail and a deep understanding of how writing connects with an audience.

I believe every manuscript has a unique voice worth protecting. My role as an editor is not to rewrite an author’s work or make it sound like my own, but to help strengthen what is already there—improving clarity, flow, structure, and readability while honoring the author’s original vision.

Whether I’m helping a writer strengthen a story's foundation through developmental editing or refining the details through line editing and copyediting, I approach each project with thoughtfulness, encouragement, and care.

When I’m not immersed in a manuscript, you'll usually find me reading, spending time outdoors, or enjoying life with my husband and our two dogs. We love hiking, cycling, and the simple joys of being outside together.
